Hugo González: “My dream since very little is to debut for Valencia CF and I am going to give it my all to do it”
He is just over 18 years old and he keeps on taking steps and collecting experiences at the VCF Academy he joined at benjamin. This season, still at juvenile age, he has featured in 20 games for VCF Mestalla providing two goalscoring assists, growing and learning in a really competitive division, especially for the younger players. Hugo González will keep growing at the VCF Academy after extending his contract for Valencia CF.
“I feel absolute happiness about renewing with the club where I’ve spent almost ten years, explained Hugo González on VCF Media. “ I’ve been here since I was little, and I’ve seen many people, colleagues, friends pass by… the truth is that being here is my dream”, said the Valencian player.
At the VCF Academy since benjamin, Hugo González has been firmly progressing without dropping his head and learning every step of the way be it A,B, or Foundation. “The VCF Academy has been shaping me up, the staff here are very welcoming they try to get you fully focused on the team and build a family. It’s really comfortable” he admits.
Little by little, he has been polishing his game and operating on the wing, he is very nimble with the ball at his feet and a very direct player. He broke into Juvenil Diviión de Honor from Cadete A last season. He showcased his attributes which have earnt him a place at the VCF Mestalla and this season he has cemented his place in the side he was also given a first team run-out in pre-season.
Slowly you’re realising that you’re climbing up steps and that you’re almost there and it gives you joy to see like other fellow teammates are following in the footsteps and even make blistering progress and there they are coming up to scratch… From that standpoint I’m really happy”.
“My Friends tell me you’re nearly there, but my parents on the other hand try to keep my feet on the ground, they tell me to take it easy and that life is full of twists and turns”.
It is being a season of learning for Hugo González and all his teammates at VCF Mestalla and despite not obtaining the results they hoped for which they’ve been working really hard towards, their efforts have gone unrewarded. This Saturday at 6 pm they will play their final home game of the season against AE Prat.
“There are plenty of positives to take away this season, like the group we’ve built with experienced players that contribute a lot head coaches who have been coaching the youth ranks and really good colleagues, he states.
It’s time to keep on learning to continue taking steps at the VCF Academy which is like my second home and it also helps him with his academic studies. “I’ve grown up a lot and my development here is really beautiful, I’m enjoying it to the max and I’m certain that I’m going to give it my best. The work always pays off, said the homegown winger.
Hugo Gozález has reached a decade at the VCF Academy where he will continue growing in the years to come. My dream since very little is to debut for Valencia CF and I am going to give it my all to do it”.
